Emerging Brilliance!!! Kurt Rosenwinkel

For my birthday last night over twenty of us went to Chuck E Cheeses'. Whenever people would ask me what I thought of it before we went I said, "I think it will be awkwardly fun." Well, it was a blast...in total we accumulated approximately 2,500 tickets!!! Wow.

Well, I'm not so much into the Emerging Church, but I am into the "Emerging Brilliance" of Kurt Rosenwinkel!

Today Linds and I are headed to NYC for a fun day there. Tonight we are going to go to the Village Vanguard to see Kurt Rosenwinkel play! Awesome!!

Then tomorrow morning we are going to Redeemer Presbyterian to hear the Word preached. Promises to be a great weekend!!

I'm still planning on posting something on unity...it's just been a busy couple of weeks.

Banner of Truth!

Right after the last session of the Weekender on Monday I drove 2.5 hours up to Carlisle, PA to visit the Banner of Truth headquarters. It was great! I was able to buy a few books at a pretty low price and was able to go out to lunch with Steve Burlew. Here are a few pics from my trip up there.

National Archives and Art Gallery

Last Saturday we were able to go to the National Archives and the National Art Gallery. Our feet and backs could only handle a small part of the art gallery so Lord willing we'll be headed back in the near future to finish her off! Here are some pics!

Foz do Iguaçu

A few years ago Lindsey and I participated in a mission trip to Brasil. The day we left Cascavel we flew out of Foz do Iguaçu [Iguacu Falls]. The Iguacu river borders the state Paraná, Brazil and Argentina. This water fall was huge…I guess it’s approximately 7 times the size of Niagra Falls. I guess the water power generates a large percentage of electricity for the region.

Anyhow…at the Desiring God website they have pictures of natural wonders with bible verses… Well, low and behold the last time I went there was the Foz do Iguaçu. Check it out!

"Good Form!"

Well, I bet you never dreamed that you would see pictures like these:)

Lindsey has really good form... Legs shoulder width apart. Arms fully extended, etc.

Me on the other hand...

I was anchoring my left elbow in my chest... here I have it extended a little bit, and I had my left leg about a foot in front of the other one. The funny thing is... my poor form was fairly accurate. I hit the target fairly well.

Lindsey was a good shot too...I sure wouldn't want to be in a gun duel against her! :o) She seems innocent, but wow, she's deadly!

Lanesboro

The house behind us is the Berwood Hill Inn. It's about four miles out of Lanesboro, MN. It's at the end of a long gravel road. It was great. No television, beautiful gardens, etc. The landscape is beautiful too...the sunrise and sunsets are something else.

This one's a little farther away...you can see the hydrangeas. This place has even been in Better Homes and Gardens for the gardens. It was excellent to read in the morning! Also, the breakfast was excellent. How often do you have the opportunity to eat breakfast with 6 complete strangers?? Cool!

The bike trail is on the Root River. We rode 27 miles on it. And we were dog tired at the end, but it was fun. This place would have excellent views in the Fall!

There were beautiful views all along the trail...we even saw about 6 deer:)
