Lately I’ve been listening to Kurt Rosenwinkel’s newest disc Deep Song. Specifically track 2 Brooklyn Sometimes.
For those of you that like contemporary jazz this disc is great. This track is a great demonstration of building intensity, energy, and momentum in a song without increasing the volume. By adding more textures, more melodic interplay, etc.
Kurt is a really melodic guitar player, not as melodic as Pat Metheny…but pretty exciting to listen to!
This album was recorded on Verve. Good disc!

I've also been digging the third movement of Brahm's third Symphony!
What is everyone else listening to right now?
